Course Overview:
UNFORTUNATELY, the Black story is not reflected in the teaching of American history. Black people (Africans) existed before slavery. Blacks are more than the nation’s oppressed. Black history features a plethora of change-makers and innovators who made America – while they were told that they weren’t “real” Americans.
The aim of the course is to merge the past with the present through the perspective of a Black kid born in the 80s and raised in the 90s by parents and grandparents with one foot removed from the “golden age” of American history.
