2024 is off to an amazing start! The Atlanta Hawks highlighted some local businesses and we were chosen as one of those businesses. We will continue to do work for those who are underdogs.

Course Overview:

UNFORTUNATELY, the Black story is not reflected in the teaching of American history.  Black people (Africans) existed before slavery.  Blacks are more than the nation’s oppressed.  Black history features a plethora of change-makers and innovators who made America – while they were told that they weren’t “real” Americans.

The aim of the course is to merge the past with the present through the perspective of a Black kid born in the 80s and raised in the 90s by parents and grandparents with one foot removed from the “golden age” of American history.

 

 

OUR FINAL COLLECTION OF 2018, ORIENTATION, SERVED AS A “BRIDGE” COLLECTION TO TAKE OUR AUDIENCE FROM OUR CURRENT STATE INTO THE NEXT PHASE OF THE COMPANY….MORE INTENTIONAL AND MORE ATTENTION TO DETAILS IN OUR OFFERINGS. WE WILL ALSO BE TRANSITIONING TO 100% CUT + SEW AFTER THIS COLLECTION.

ORIENTATION TAKES OUR CURRENT AND FUTURE AUDIENCE ON THE TOUR OF THE BRAND’S HISTORY AND ALLOWS THEM TO BE PART OF THE BRAND’S FUTURE!  ORIENTATION’S MISSION AS A COLLECTION IS TO DISPLAY THE BRAND’S 3 AIMS: SIMPLICITY, STYLE, AND SOPHISTICATION.

The 3rd installment of our quarterly event (and last one of 2018), Clothes Minded ATL, was such a great event! Thank you to everyone who came out to hear us chat about the business of fashion on 11/14/18.  This panel focused on, well…focus.  We chatted with our panel of fashion professionals about how they live, work, play and everything else.

The images from the “Decision” capsule collection are not something one can breeze over.  These original photos are meant to shock and/or expose the level of desensitization we deal with as it relates to violence, sex drugs, and hate.   We wanted to pair the innocence of childhood (specifically in our little girls) with the harsh realities of the inevitable decisions we all have to make as we grow up.  Unfortunately, some of us had to forfeit our childhood due to being placed in adult situations.

Our goal with this capsule collection is not to make people feel bad, but it is to get people thinking about their role in helping the next generation pursue purity.  Too many children are forced to “grow up” at the hands of an ill-equipped adult.  We want everyone who sees this collection to stop and think about how they would help this child make wise, healthy life decisions

Thank you to everyone who came out to hear us chat about the business of fashion on 4/9/18.  This panel focused on the ups and downs of starting + maintaining a fashion-based business.  This panel featured some really dope people who helped guide people thinking about taking this leap of faith and provided support for those who have already made the leap.  If this talk could be boiled down to one, main point it would be:

“The pursuit of your dream it HARD…excellence is not an endpoint, it is the daily grind.  Surround yourself with people who speak positivity into your life…because it is absolutely necessary. Keep going…even when it does make sense to you!”

First and foremost…THANK YOU for all of the continued support!  We hosted a Pop Up Shop for our latest collection, “Excellence is a Process”, back in November and it was such a dope time.    We had a blast seeing new and old friends.

This collection focused on the heart of reaching our personal goals and the endurance needed to keep fighting.  It won’t always be easy but it won’t always be a challenge.  The daily fight is your very own version of excellence…not just the goal.  Keep fighting and keep enduring!
